Newborns are my most favorite things to photograph. I got creative with this one and it has become my absolute favorite shot. It only took 2 shoots and 5 hours to get it but it was sooo worth it. Even the moment I caught of the mom getting anderson to sleep has become another favorite. Thanks guys for coming and being patient with me and my creativity!

Here are some of my favorite images of Maddux and Cade this year. This was one set of my christmas card images. I took 9,000 pictures and could not decide. This did not make the cut but I really wanted to print these as part of my card. Since I did not I still wanted to share with you the sweetness of them!

i love how Cade has his toes hooked onto each other! I will cherish this image forever. It reminds me of me and my brother.

I was given the opportunity this past summer to have a table set up with some other photographers donating a free session at the Anna's Angels Foundation gala. This very special organization promotes the research for Down Syndrome. Well, this is the long awaited session from the family that won the session. These kids were amazing and I have found some great friends in this family. Thanks Gretchen and John for allowing me to do this and for supporting Anna!

I had a blast with this family of 5. Lets just say no one is above a little bribery! With this family all it took was bubble gum. Do what you have to do! For my girl it is M&M's and for my boy it is a blue sucker. It helped us to get these great shots and we had a great time even though it was very chilly! Thanks guys! Enjoy!

We braved the 40 degree weather for these shots. Mom was my photography assistant and the coats were off and on for an hour. I am so glad the braces are off and you could catch these 2 gorgeous kiddos! ENJOY!

How sweet this session was for me. Mason was awake the whole time but allowed us to fold, bend and shape him into whatever we wanted. He did let us know when he needed to have a diaper on! I loved doing these for my mom and dad. We always get together but we are never all dressed and ready for pictures so on our last day at the beach we got all the grandkids together. I just got in 3 new backdrops today and I wanted to play around with them. Kiddos didn't feel like playing so I got what could. Now I can shoot on my typical white and black along with coral, sky blue and smoke gray. Love the smoke gray!

These 2 boys really brought out their love for each other in these shots. Amy, the mom, described times during the session as "prayerful moments" but they did a great job. It was 100 degress and they were sitting in dirt and rocks. I think they did great. Amy is a consultant for Uppercase Living here in Holly Springs and I have attended many of her parties. I am so glad I met her to capture these and to add those cute quotes on my walls by my own babies! Thanks guys! I hope you enjoy!

This was a returning family from last summer. I only got the 2 girls last summer but this time I got the whole family. We shot a few in studio and then in my outside "studio" in the field. Reese was the cuteset red head I have ever seen. She was so happy! Ella was so precious and started sneezing as soon as we got to the field. These were my favs from the session. This is just a quick peep at my new lifestyle session I will start offering. This is a non-traditional, candid, day-in-the-life type of session. It offers more "in the moment" style pictures than the traditional portrait images. I still throw in a couple portrait images but this session revolves around your family interacting with each other. A boy and his trucks, a girl holding her baby, mom and dad reading a book. Wall galleries will accompany these images to give you ideas on how to display them in your home. I want to introduce my new 2008 birth announcements. I added this new blog to "Jaime Lackey Photography Links". These birth announcements are made up of 5x7 and 5x5 flat cards, as well as a 5x7 folded wide format. Each card has a different layout, font and color for you to choose to show off your newest member of your family. That first picture says it all. I got together with a few ladies over the weekend who share with me the same obsession of photography. That's me in orange. This time we had no moving targets! Our models came out on a cold day to allow all of us crazy women to have cameras in their faces just for the fun of it. We had a blast and learned a lot. Thank you to Wende who organized it and the models who let us tell them what to do for 4 hours! It is a large showcase, I couldn't help it.

This is my favorite capture of 2007. Not just because these are my babies, but the reason goes far beyond the pretty color and composition. It is rare for me to capture Maddux and Cade together. Most of my posts of them are in two separate pictures. This time I felt I really captured who they are to each other. These two children have the purest hearts and make me fall in love with them all over everyday!
